Support Savanna's Journey to Recovery

We are asking for your help today to raise money for 17 year old Savanna (aka Nina), who on June 28th was involved in a 4 wheeler accident and was star-flighted to Seton Dell Medical at the University of Texas. Savanna sustained major damage to her brain stem (yes she was wearing a helmet), broke her left femur close to her pelvic bone, and bruised her left lung. After a week in the ICU unit the family was told that Savanna has Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI) which is a a type of traumatic brain injury that occurs when the brain shifts inside the skull. It has caused Savanna loss of consciousness which she has yet to regain. When Savanna becomes stable enough to be moved she will be transferred to a nuro facility where she will be assessed and allow the family to fully understand the extent of her brain injury, and how much of the basic cognitive motor functions she will need to relearn such as walking, talking, and feeding herself.

As of today, Sunday July 14th, Savanna has been in the hospital for a total of 16 days. The family has been told by the ICU doctors that Savanna will stay in the ICU unit for at least another week to 2 weeks. Once Savanna is stable enough to be transported to the rehab facility she will be living in the rehab for a few months.

At this time we are asking for your support, all your thoughts and prayers, and donations to help alleviate the financial burden the family has sustained.
