Latiesha Crosby Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Olivia Crosby, and I am the CEO of Olivia Crosby Corp, a non-profit dedicated to advocating for social justice and raising mental health awareness. On October 17, 2023, I lost my mother, Latiesha Crosby Lauray, to gun violence. In her memory, I am establishing a scholarship fund to support students who have experienced the devastating loss of a parent to gun violence.
This scholarship will provide financial assistance to high school students from Queens High School of Teaching and college students from John Jay College of Criminal Justice—both schools I attended. I know firsthand the challenges of losing a parent while trying to move forward in life and education. This fund will help ease that burden for students during such a critical time.
The donations raised will go directly toward funding scholarships for these students. The scholarships will be awarded during either the fall or spring semester, with each student required to submit an essay to apply. High school students must maintain a 75-90 average, and college students must have at least a 2.5 GPA to be eligible. Your generous contributions will help cover the cost of tuition, books, and other essential school supplies for these deserving students.
Gun violence is a tragic and all-too-common reality in many communities. Losing a parent to such violence is an unimaginable burden. Many students face not only emotional trauma but also financial challenges as they attempt to move forward in life. This scholarship will offer them both support and hope, as they pursue their education and future dreams despite the hardships they have faced.
I invite you to join me in honoring my mother’s memory and supporting these students. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Your contribution will help ensure that these students receive the financial assistance they need to continue their education and achieve their goals.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of students affected by gun violence.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
