Support Scott's Recovery from Pulmonary Embolism
Donation protected
Hi Friends!
On June 24th, my partner had a routine surgery for a hernia. After a week of pain and trouble breathing, we had to rush Scott to the hospital for a possible blood clot. Within 24 hours of his being admitted, he needed emergency surgery for what turned out to be a fatal saddle pulmonary embolism. After his surgery, we learned that Scott had had a blood clotting disorder that caused the clotting and he will now need to take blood thinners for the rest of his life. Scott spent several days in the hospital and several more resting at home. While the clots in his lungs were removed, the remaining clots in his legs were left to heal independently. This greatly impaired his mobility and ability to go to work.
This medical emergency was unplanned and led to Scott missing about a month of work. His position does not have paid time off or sick leave, so it's a month without a paycheck. We are grateful that his medical bills were mostly covered by insurance but would appreciate any assistance you can offer to pay his bills and make ends meet.
We are deeply touched by all the support, love, and warmth from our community while Scott was in the hospital, we are so grateful to the incredible team at Baylor, Scott, and White, who saved his life!
Any financial help you can offer now will be greatly appreciated, and I promise to deliver my famous homemade hummus to anyone who donates in the Austin area! Please share this page if you can too.
Thanks again for all the support and love <3
