Support Seguin Art League's Historic Roof Repair

Since the opening of our gallery on Austin Street in May of 2022 (and since the art league’s inception in 1982), the Seguin Art League has been an active, successful part of downtown & of the community of Seguin. We teach art classes for all ages as well as provide an exposure to many types of art. We support our veterans by providing opportunities for them to show their work as well as take classes. We participate whole-heartedly in downtown activities. Every year we sponsor the Elementary/Middle School art show and the High School regional art show which gives students across several counties the opportunity to interact with other young artists.

Built in 1890 as an opera house, our building is experiencing some difficulties due to its age. We have the roof on the two-story portion stabilized at the moment with a sealer. We are now looking at a $40,000 expenditure for a membrane over the one-story portion of the building (which has been made more expensive because of the limited roof egress and access). We are also in need of funds to expand our education space (which, of course, would be under the repaired roof).
