Support SEIU Local 73 Workers' Strike

Update: The bargaining team representing nearly 800 Food Service and Building Service Workers, members of SEIU Local 73, at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign have reached a tentative contract agreement with University administration. The union members will vote on the proposed contract until Thursday, October 3.

The strike is currently on pause pending the results of the vote. You can still donate during this pause, and all funds raised will continue to support these workers. We will post an update later this week.

These essential workers are the heart of the University. They cook the food for the students living in the dorms. They clean the buildings on campus. They deserve to be paid a living wage for their work and to be treated with dignity. Community members have set up this effort for these workers as they go on strike.
