Support Service Members' Mental Health with Alpha-Stim

Hello, I’m an Active Guard Reserve member with the Army National Guard. I am part of a community that supports Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve service members' (Army, Air Force, Marine, Navy, Coast Guard, and Space Force) mental and physical healthcare. There are many resources available for service members, veterans, and retirees. However, my recent discovery is the limitation of TRICARE's (military health insurance) alternative care access outside of a medical facility. This may increase the likelihood of dependency on medication, mental and financial stress, and straining the already limited medical professionals and facilities.

Alpha-Stim is an FDA approved medical device used for anxiety, insomnia, and pain management. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) may experience similar symptoms. The device uses electrical current to assist the brain with processing pain and emotional receptors. The company has been around for 40 years. Personally, I have used this method to reduce symptoms without having to resort to medication.

The intent of this fundraiser is to purchase 50 units of the Alpha-Stim for military behavioral health facilities in the National Capitol Region. Selected beneficiaries with documented history of using the equipment will be gifted the equipment so they will not have to travel to a clinic for their treatment, free up clinic and hospital resources, and help especially those with limited mobility.
