“He is faithful in all His words and kind in all His ways.” (Psalms 145:12)
Seth and I have had to navigate a club I never wish for anyone to have to join. The infertility journey is one that has held its heartache, hurts, and unknowns. But it’s also been a life changing shaking of our faith. Suffering comes as we journey through this life of flesh, brokenness, sin, and an imperfect world. He never promised a life of always giving us the answers, the perfect path, the healing, the restoration, the job, or the baby. The hard truth of the gospel and of our journey towards deepening our roots in Him is the testimony isn’t getting the fulfillment of our dream, prayer, or answer. The testimony is God’s faithfulness, His goodness in the midst, and His promise TO NEVER LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US. The testimony is He is sovereign. He is kind. He weeps with us. He grieves when we grieve. He rejoices over us. He protects. He provides. He goes before us. He goes behind us. He is at work. He is our treasure.
After a hard road, (one day we will share more of the journey and details) but for now we have peace in pursuing a route to parenthood through a fertility treatment we’ve prayed over and know God is here in this next step. We know this comes with no for sures or 100 percent guarantees, but we do trust no matter the outcome our God is with us, refining us, and making us more like Him through it. The hope is eternity glory with Him one day! We know life is expensive for us all, and we all our going through economically hard times. If you are able, we would never be able to say thank you enough for giving to our goal, but if that isn’t within your means or finances to do so, we would be more than thankful for your prayers and encouragement as we walk this next step. We know we can’t do it without a community of family, friends, and believers to come along side us.
It’s a vulnerable place to share, and we know it takes everyone their own timeline to do so or sometimes if ever, feeling that release, and that’s okay too. We hope in sharing this you know you have a safe place to find encouragement and hope in what can sometimes feel isolating. We have wrestled with our faith, endured grief & sadness, but also sweet joy and unfathomable peace. This season of infertility has become our holy ground to experience the nearness of Christ, to know it is well, even when it is not.
In sharing our hard, we hope it leads people to know a God who loves them and wants to know them intimately. He sits with those who are suffering, and our suffering whatever that looks like for each of us, is never for nothing. We hope to be good stewards of the story He is writing, and to illuminate this truth:
“Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail, they are new every morning; Great is Thy Faithfulness.” Lam 3:21-23
