Support Shadi's Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
In a narrow alley of a city torn apart by war, the Alwan family struggles to survive. Shadi, once a fisherman before an airstrike destroyed his boat, now bears the responsibility of his family. He cares for his aging mother, "Um Shadi," and his children—Wedad, Shukri, Saja, Farah, and little Mira, who was born amidst the horrors of war. He fights daily to protect his loved ones from hunger, fear, and the cold.
Um Shadi, a resilient woman, does all she can to support her son and grandchildren despite her age. She has become a symbol of strength. Shadi’s sisters, Noor and Israa, were on the brink of promising futures—one in high school and the other in university—but their dreams were shattered when an airstrike destroyed their school and campus. Now, they witness everything from the ruins of the life they once knew.
Each night, when darkness falls and the sounds of explosions echo around them, Shadi cradles his infant daughter Mira, trying to soothe her as he searches for a new place of shelter after their home was bombed. They live in constant fear, seeking a way to evacuate and escape the horrors surrounding them. Their father has been absent for years, leaving Shadi to shoulder the heavy burden of caring for everyone, a weight too great for one person to bear.
Their story is woven with pain and resilience, as Shadi holds onto hope that someone might offer them a helping hand, a chance to save his family from this relentless nightmare.
