The DMV Bangladeshi Community is extremely saddened by the untimely demise of the esteemed musician Shafin Ahmed. During his trip in the USA from Bangladesh, he fell ill due to cardiac problems and was admitted to Sentara Hospital in Woodbridge, VA. His condition got worse following a massive heart attack. After staying on life support, he breathed his last at the hospital on July 24th. The news spread quickly among the Bangladeshi expatriates who are still mourning the loss.
Shafin Ahmed's family would like to take him to Bangladesh for burial after all necessary logistics are settled. Passing in a foreign land can be complicated. From hospital dues, to Funeral Home arrangements and international cargo fare to carry his casket home require a huge sum of money. From the love for their favorite musician, who gave Bangladesh numerous songs spanning generations, the local Bangladeshi people want to join hands to raise some funds to cover some of the expenses.
