Support Shahd Mohamed's Family in Crisis

Dear friends and community,

I’m reaching out to share the urgent and heartbreaking story of my dear friend Shahd Mohamed and her family, who have faced unimaginable hardships due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

Before the war, Shahd's family ran a thriving business and lived in their own home, full of hope for the future. However, their lives were turned upside down when violence erupted. Their home was directly hit by shelling, and their business was looted and burned to the ground by the RSF. This devastating loss forced Shahd to leave her family behind in Sudan and seek work in Saudi Arabia, hoping to support them from afar.

In Saudi Arabia, Shahd Mohamed successfully passed her medical licensing exam, showcasing her determination and resilience. However, she is unable to secure a job because she lacks a visa, which costs around 10,000 riyal. This financial barrier stands between her and the ability to provide for her family.

Her family is currently living without electricity or running water, facing daily struggles just to survive. They rely on dwindling supplies and the kindness of neighbors, but with every passing day, their situation grows more desperate. Adding to their struggles, Shahd Mohamed's parents are experiencing serious health issues, further complicating their ability to cope with this crisis. Her three younger sisters are also affected, missing out on education and stability at such a critical time in their lives.

The opening of colleges in Egypt is fast approaching, and Shahd Mohamed dreams of sending her sisters to pursue their education there. Attending college is not just an opportunity for them; it’s a chance for a better future in the face of overwhelming adversity. However, the costs associated with this educational endeavor are significant, and the family needs immediate financial support to make it a reality.
