I’m reaching out to share my story in the hopes of finding support during this incredibly difficult time.

On Tuesday night, my family and I safely evacuated our home in Altadena as the devastating Eaton fires swept through our neighborhood in Altadena. Just hours later, I received the heartbreaking news that my neighbors were fighting to save my childhood home — but despite their efforts, the fire consumed everything.

This wasn’t just any house. For the last 42 years, my parents raised me and my siblings here and for the last 7 years, it’s added on an additional title of being “Maz and Papa’s house” to their grandkids. It held a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love—all reduced to ash. I grabbed what I could in the rush to evacuate, but the reality is that I’ve lost everything. The fire didn’t just take my home; it also took my sense of security and stability. Now, I’m faced with the overwhelming task of starting over from scratch.

Many of you have kindly reached out, asking how you can help me, and I needed a moment to grasp the new reality that I am faced with. To provide immediate assistance, I have set up this GoFundMe account where we can contribute. Your support will help me cover urgent needs and provide some relief while I start over.

The funds collected will solely be used to cover unexpected expenses that are not being covered by any other disaster relief aid.
