Support Shannon: Aid for Medical and Family Crisis

Hi, I'm raising money for my dear friend Shannon Dingle and her family to bridge the gap while she receives treatment for a fracture in her back and is unable to work. You may know Shannon from such horrors as My Husband Was Killed By A Rogue Wave On Our Family Beach Vacation. Shannon and her six kids have been finding their way and have rebuilt their lives over the past several years, and as we all know, children don't keep. These babies are all teenagers now.

Shannon works full time and supports her family, but her back continues to cause pain and deteriorate from abuse she suffered as a child. She has already had several back surgeries in her life and part of her spine is fused. With this new fracture at L3 her doctors are planning on extending her previous spinal fusion to that point. Medical care is not cheap, but the bigger issue for Shannon is the unpaid time she has to take off of work for all of this.

In addition to her back and unpaid time off of work, one of Shannon's children has been dealing with a major mental health crisis and is inpatient receiving treatment.

In April the Dingle Family wheelchair accessible van was stolen and damaged. The van was recovered, but the repairs are taking longer than initially expected and USAA insurance will only cover a fraction of the cost of a wheelchair van rental.
