Support Shannon Stites: Medical Bills Suck!

Hello,

My name is Melaney and I am Shannon’s sister seeking much needed support.

Shannon and Mark Stites are hard-working small business owners. They work hard for their clients, their dogs, and the hunting community. They are innovative mentors and give their time endlessly to others.

Shannon in particular, takes care of everybody but herself. In December, she fell ill while taking a trip to Duluth, MN to see our brother who was in the hospital. Instead, she was forced to check herself into the ER. She would be diagnosed with gall stones that had lodged in her pancreatic bile duct, would find out she was anemic from blood loss, needing to have a hysterectomy but during all of this, had a major blood clot in her leg that went undiagnosed and ended up traveling into all five parts of her lungs. Things became critical.

They put her on blood thinners, and the surgeries had to wait, however this left Shannon in pain and the doctors without a plan. She spent 10 days in the hospital in Duluth, before being sent home only to be readmitted for another 2.5 weeks in Sioux Falls, SD via life flight.

They have since completed the gallbladder surgery, as complications were getting worse. She is now home, battling issues with her impending hysterectomy, blood loss from being on thinners, and all the pain and fatigue that comes with it.

Through it all, she has maintained her fighting spirit, kept a good attitude even when it seemed impossible, and continues to put her animals first.

She still has months of waiting until her next surgeries, but the medical bills keep coming in. Please help us to support Shannon and Mark to ensure they can continue to make an impact with their business, and give Shannon some breathing room to put her health first. Thank you for anything and everything you can give, it makes such a difference. 100% of the proceeds will go towards paying for her hospital stay in Duluth which was not covered by insurance.
