*March 31 2025 Update
Here’s an update direct from Shannon: “They say closed mouths don't get feed; so here I am with my mouth wide open lol. We are halfway through the radiation and then we begin stronger dosage of chemo TEmozolomide and my optune device that will be worn daily for 2 to 3 years. We are hurting financially we have used all of our savings and needing any help we can get. We have been denied Medicaid and food stamps, all costs are coming out of pocket. Iam worried we will get basic necessaries for this coming month, ie Rent, FOOD MEDICINE. Anything helps, thank you. Pride has been swallowed. Ashley has gone back to work half days, but won't get a check for 3 weeks. Yes I still can not be left alone, I have to be monitored for seizure and strokes.....which I have never had Thank you Lord” Please continue to pray for God to make a way, to strengthen and heal, and please share this. Anything you can spare please, and God bless you for your help.

*16 February 2025 First and foremost, Shannon and family want to say THANK YOU to everyone who is supporting her on this Journey to good health and the eradication of this cancer wholly, God’s Will. We also pray for YOU ALL to be blessed.
All donations made go directly to Shannon to replace her missed income to go toward not only copays for medical care and medication not covered by insurance or provided by pharmaceutical manufacturers, but obviously for rent food and utilities previously covered with Shannon’s income. March rent is due soon, and they’re hoping for a few more hundred dollars donation to meet those monthly expenses. Thank you just does not do justice ❤️
*UPDATE Friday 7 Feb 2025
Shannon returned home today and will continue IV fluids/infusions at home for 2-4 weeks then resume chemo and radiation. There will be a third craniotomy surgery later to return the portion of her skull they had to remove for this surgery but until then she’ll be using a helmet for protection during activities. She says she’s looking for some artists to paint it with something cool!!
Please continue to share this fundraiser and keep prayers coming.
Thank you for your continued support.

*Update Feb 3, 2025 #2
THANK YOU for your prayers and well wishes! THANK YOU for your donations.
Shannon is out of surgery, and will be in the hospital a couple of days. The infection has been taken care of and DID NOT reach her brain. Thank you Lord. My understanding is that she will, however, require protective head gear now. I will update when I know more. She will resume radiation and chemo treatment soon, and when appropriate following today’s surgery. Thank you, again, please continue to pray, and share her gofundme.

*Update Feb 3, 2025 #1

My dear niece, Shannon, is back in the hospital, and a second surgery tomorrow morning due to infection they believe to be related to her radiation treatment on Friday last. Please pray for her and her immediate family as well as her medical staff at NKC Hospital.

*Update 1/29/2025

Shannon is doing great and is uplifted in spirit, and optimistic today as she began what she calls Part 2 of her treatment, beginning her radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Part 1 was, of course, her surgery that removed 80% of the tumor.
She is thankful to everyone for all of their prayers, to everyone who has reached out to her, her husband Ashley, and to their children with support. Please continue to fight with them as Shannon continues on her healing journey.

**1/25/2025
Although the results of pathology this past week were less than we’d hoped for, MRI results yesterday indicate the remaining 20% of the tumor which was inoperable has not grown. Shannon’s doctor is very optimistic that upcoming radiation will be effective. Please continue with your faithful prayers, they are working!

Shannon Smith Ashley Smith and family are in more need than ever of your prayers and financial assistance as she moves forward with treatment this week. PLEASE give them the time to process and adjust to this diagnosis. They are most grateful for all the support you’ve been giving.

PLEASE continue the fight with my dear niece Shannon as she continues treatment by donating to this fund raiser if you possibly can. If everyone on my friends list donated only $10 each, we could raise $3610! Thank you for your continued prayers and shares whether you are unable to make a donation or not.❤️

This is a fundraiser for Ashley and Shannon Smith family support. Shannon is a devoted wife and mother, so strong and dedicated to her family and its success. But she needs a little assistance and support right now.

Shannon is beginning treatment for brain cancer the onset of which was very sudden. She had surgery January 9, 2025 in which a large portion of a mass was successfully removed but she will require further treatment on this journey back to optimum health, about which we are optimistic.

Due to this unexpected and sudden onset of debilitating medical issues, Shannon will be unable to work for an unknown but extended period of time.

Effective immediately, the family will incur a minimum loss of two months income that Shannon contributes to the household, and Ashley’s unpaid leave when caring for her; unexpected additional medical and insurance costs; additional family care costs, and additional transportation needs and costs just to name a few. Their need is urgent.
We set this fundraising amount based on the site recommendations for other medical fundraisers, so understand it could increase or decrease based upon need. They need $3000 right away. So please let’s at minimum free them up from rent and utilities a bit as soon as possible, they can focus on Shannon’s treatment.

Please consider donating to this well-deserving cause. It is a very tough time economically now, we understand. So if you are unable to give monetarily please share with someone you think may be able to. Perhaps ask if your house of worship would consider helping. All funds will go directly to Shannon and her husband Ashley Smith. Updates will be posted here along Shannon’s journey to good health.

Thank you for considering this fundraiser, and please, pray and give thanks to God for Shannon’s healing and for God’s provision, protection, peace and strength for Shannon, Ashley & their children.
