Hey friends!
So, this is my first-ever GoFundMe, and honestly, I feel like I’m writing a college admission essay. A little nerve-wracking! But hey, here I am, this time on the other side of the table on GoFundMe.
As some of you know, I recently said goodbye to my corporate career. While I’m incredibly grateful to have made this leap there is a lingering uncertainty which makes me hesitate to make the next move and embark on my passion. But I think I am at a point where I feel read to tackle the next chapter.
I’ve always wanted to dedicate my post banking life to causes that genuinely align with my values. My passion to give back to the society up until now have been limited to charitable donations and community volunteering, but I’m all set for something deeper and more immersive. It’s time to pay it forward and make a real impact with my time and skills that I have gained, thanks to the entire ‘village’ and society at large!
Here’s where things get tricky. Volunteering in a new country isn’t as simple as just showing up with good vibes and burning desire. Turns out, it actually costs money to volunteer! After months of searching, I’ve finally found an amazing opportunity that seems a great way to embark on this journey.
I’m enrolling in a 10-month volunteer program that includes intensive training in Denmark before heading to Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique or India to work on projects focused on education, public health, agriculture, community development, or climate change. I don’t get to pick the country—where I am most needed will determine the destination.
The training itself costs €3,500, and that’s where you come in. This program, run by Humana People to People, equips volunteers like me with the skills to actually make a difference on the ground. Plus, it’ll prepare me for future projects too. If you want to check them out, here’s the link to their work and programs:
And here’s the institute where the training will take place:
So, why am I asking for your help? Because this dream isn’t just about me. It’s about all of us teaming up to create a kinder, more equitable world. I promise to bring my sincerity, passion, and determination to this journey. If you believe in me and my mission, I’d be so grateful for your support—whether it’s a small donation, a share, or just cheering me on.
Let’s make this a joint venture!
With love, gratitude, and some nervous energy,
