Support Sharon Rimmer

Many friends have been asking how to help support our dear friend, Sharon Rimmer, after her recent life-changing news. We have created this page to assist in bearing some of the financial burdens she is facing during this challenging time.

Sharon is a long-time dedicated ECE with Algoma District School Board. She is a caring, strong and loving person who always helps others in any way that she can. On February 15th, she received a life-altering diagnosis of cancer.

After scans, it was explained that a Urothelial Malignant Tumour was located on her ureter. Indium fluid was also detected around her bladder, which potentially indicates additional concerns. A nephrostomy was surgically inserted to assist with kidney and bladder function. As a result of this surgery, she is now unable to safely work. The potential of infection, illness, and accidental interference of the catheter creates too great a risk.

Before her diagnosis, Sharon worked three jobs. As she awaits out of town surgery and her condition progresses, her return to work date is indefinitely postponed. She will need to continue to maintain her home and way of life without her regular income.
