Support Sharon's Battle with Cervical Cancer

Hello Everyone, my name is Ikeyshana and I am establishing this GoFundMe on behalf of my beautiful Aunt, Sharon Smith. Our family is asking all those who love and care about my Aunt to please consider making a donation to help her out financially during this difficult time.

Sharon was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in 2022 and has done well with managing the condition through consistency in utilizing her heart medication and routine visits with her Cardiologist. However, over the past few months, Sharon had been feeling unwell, and has endured multiple hospitalizations. Most recently, on March 21, 2024 my Aunt experienced a medical emergency, and after an extensive hospital stay, several examinations, and a series of tests (MRIs, CT scans, PET scans, etc.), led our family to learning about Sharon's life changing diagnosis: Stage III-C1 Cervical Cancer on April 12, 2024.

Due to the advanced progression of the cervical cancer, we have been informed that surgery to remove the cancer is not an option, and treatment is limited to minimal chemotherapy and radiation, contingent upon Sharon's response to treatment. The oncology team at the Benson Cancer Center has been a tremendous support in assisting Sharon and our family in processing this heartbreaking news and how we should navigate the moments ahead.

As a result of this diagnosis, her symptoms, medications, and treatment coordination, my Aunt has been unable to work and will be unable to do so for the foreseeable future. As you all can imagine, her medical insurance only covers a small portion of what is needed to effectively care for her, and we would genuinely appreciate any contributions you can make to ease Sharon's mind from being concerned about finances and to solely focus on being strong for her upcoming cancer treatments.

I know there are many people who truly love and care about my Aunt's well-being, friendship, and have experienced her kindness and genuine spirit over the years, which is the reason I wanted to establish this account. She would be so grateful to see all of those who can contribute financially toward her care, as I can't think of anyone else who is more deserving of your love, generosity, and support during this difficult time.
