Support Shayne’s Recovery from Grizzly Attack

My name is Chloe Burke. I’m Shayne Patrick Burke’s wife and below is our story:

As many of you may know, Shayne and Chloe were on their honeymoon exploring National Parks when Shayne was attacked by a grizzly bear in Grand Teton National Park in May of 2024. Though Shayne suffered extensive injuries, he was fortunate enough to have primarily superficial wounds. However, his right shoulder was found to be badly broken in the attack, requiring surgery and a lengthy recovery process. Shayne has been supporting Chloe through nursing school, so they are primarily a single-income household at this time. Shayne has endured emergency eye surgery for an open-globe eye injury in 2021, and surgery to remove a brain tumor (acoustic neuroma) in 2022. The Burkes embarked on their adventure honeymoon in celebration of weathering these challenges together when the unthinkable happened.
