Support Shaysha's PR Application Costs
Donation protected
Shaysha must come up with $1450 in permanent residency (PR) application fees before May 15th.
After years of work and study in Canada, Shaysha, who is South Asian, neurodivergent and a lesbian, has reached the point of needing to pay her fees for her PR application. However, the current costs of living alongside the difficult financial threshold of the application has meant that Shaysha is not able to cover both her rent and the application fee, despite working full-time.
"Truth be told, the process has been very stressful. There are a lot of components that are part of the permanent residency process for Canada."
Shaysha has already paid several costs, some of which including paying for a post grad visa twice, fingerprinting, and the English proficiency exam which is required even though Shaysha holds a university degree from within the country. Due to the unfortunate circumstance of her passport expiring before the maximum amount of time her visa could cover her, she also had to pay for a new passport from her home country and navigate the visa renewal process quickly to avoid stringent deadlines.
COSTS:
Processing fee ($850)
Permanent residence fee ($515)
Biometrics ($85)
$1450
Shaysha brings a remarkable amount of care, compassion, and vitality to the lives of those she cares for-- of whom there are many. She's shown up for friends and community in big ways, from being a well of empathy when you need a place to be heard, to offering her help wherever she is welcomed and spending long days lending her work to friends who are trying to make a difference just as she is.
She is here when you need to laugh, she's able to carry the troubles of her friends with good spirit and without judgment, and she means a lot to the people who she has formed connections with here in Canada.
Please, donate if you can or share this fundraiser to help keep Shaysha in the country she's become so rooted in!
