Support Shea Vandeman's Recovery Journey

Hello,

We are fundraising for Shea Vandeman who is in the hospital at the moment with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her body. Shea attempted to put out a grease fire in her apartment and was burned badly on her face, chest, arms and feet. She’ll be monitored by the Burn Unit at Dell Seton Hospital in Austin, TX for the next week and we are waiting to hear if she will need surgery. There’s a chance she may need to stay in the hospital up to a month due to the severity of the burns.

Shea is a student at the Texas State University and will be graduating this December. Her plan is to be a teacher and she’s supposed to take the teaching exam this summer. We are praying this accident doesn’t jeopardize or delay her goals - she’s worked so hard.

We will keep everyone posted as information comes but for now the main priority is preventing infection and monitoring her pain.
