Shelley has worked for Resources for Human Development for over 25 years, supporting individuals to walk through life like champions with IDD/Autism. Shelley has been a mentor to individuals and employees alike, helping us all to find our voice and be the best we can be with strong and compassionate leadership. Her husband, Monhdil, served his country in the Marines. He has provided for his family with unwavering dedication and support. He also supported ID and ASD individuals as a young employee at RHD and has donated free time and labor as a master carpenter making needed changes to their homes. Their greatest blessing and happiness are their children, Imani and Kayla, and the family together loves and takes care of their beloved dog Odie.

This beautiful family is currently facing Monhdil’s diagnosis of cancer. With this diagnosis comes an entire emotional, financial, and unknown outcome to follow. Shelley took a leave of absence to be home with her family as they face this head-on together.

This GoFUndMe was created out of love and concern of her colleagues at work and the individuals we support, many of whom asked,”What can we do to help Shelley and her family”? We hope to help them alleviate some of their financial burdens as they navigate Monhdil's illness. Human Services is our chosen field. We strive to assist our individuals in creating lives that are full of purpose and emotional fulfillment in accordance with their individual desires and outlooks. Although serving our individuals is infinitely rewarding in a spiritual sense, Human Services, as a profession, is notoriously low in financial compensation. Every dime restores hope for a future. Together we can accomplish great things.
