Michelle Moody Abbott
Born on December 10, 1955 in Bay City, MI, to Richard and Jacquelyn Moody,
went to Heaven on Sunday, November 8, 2020 surrounded by family.
You may have known Shelly when growing up in Saginaw, or as a classmate of St. Stephens High School class of 1974, or while she attended Saginaw Valley State University, as a neighbor in Ada or Grand Rapids, as a coworker with Greenridge Realty or Pulte or EL Ladd, as a fellow volunteer with Make A Wish, Habitat for Humanity, Whitney Home Adult Foster Care Facility, Michigan Youth Challenge Retreats, as a golf, ski, tennis, racquetball, pickle ball, kayak or fishing buddy. You may have met at church or bought or sold a house or two with her expert assistance.
However you met her, you knew her unique personality, her quirky sense of humor, her love of flamingos and all things pink, her optimistic attitude, her ability to make many, many friendships and her never ending efforts to help anyone she knew needed it.
Special thanks to the many, many friends who contacted her in her final days. A special mention to her Thornapple Community Church friends and Greenridge Realty family who provided meals and comfort to her and her family. We are so grateful for Hospice of Holland for their loving care.
According to Shelly’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A FUNeral/Celebration of her life will be held at Thornapple Community Church, 3260 Thornapple River Drive, S.E., Grand Rapids, MI, 49546 on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and pink masks in Shelly’s honor will be provided. Per Shelly’s request, please bring or wear something pink. You are asked to text or call Rick at [phone redacted] if you are planning to attend the Memorial Service as there will be limited capacity.
