Support Sheri Nabozny's Final Journey

My name is Heather, and I am creating a GoFund Me for my best friend’s mother who passed away unexpectedly- a devastating loss for her family, and anyone that knew her.

Sheri Nabozny, age 63, was well

known throughout our community as someone who you might bump into while out shopping, and would always greet you with the kindest and most heart warming smile.

She was considered as a second mother to many of her daughter’s friends and she let us know the door was always open if we needed it.

Sheri volunteered at John L Edward’s as often as she could in her daughter’s early school years- sharing her love for crafting by participating in school activities and had an all around admiration to volunteer whenever a helping hand was needed.

For those that knew her, loved her immensely for her infectious laugh and kind heart.

Sheri has struggled with serious health problems much of her adult life. However, in January 2023, Sheri went to Albany Med for a medical concern, which ultimately led to a stroke that left her fighting for her life during the past two years. During that time, her husband Peter and daughter Shelley would travel faithfully every weekend to a nursing facility in NYC where they gained hope that one day she might come home with the improvements she was making month after month. Sheri was a true warrior- defying the odds that she was presented with for most of her life.

Tragically, her battle came to an end early this past Saturday morning. Without any life insurance, Sheri’s family is facing what many others have during these unfortunate times- and that is the financial burden of providing a proper burial service. Because she needs to be transported from the nursing facility in NYC back home to Hudson, the cost is also amplified.

This is truly the last thing a family during the time of great loss should have to worry about.
