Support Sherry Anderson and Family

Hello friends, we are creating this fundraiser on behalf of Sherry Anderson. Sherry is our much-loved colleague at Maple Leaf and has been working for the company as the Senior Live Supply Coordinator since 2011. She is responsible for planning and scheduling chick orders and shipping market broiler chickens to our processing plant. It is an incredibly demanding and complex job to balance the wishes of the chicken producers, plant and hatchery. This has at times caused her sleepless nights because of her desire to do the right thing for all parties.

Producers talk highly about Sherry, confidently calling her, knowing that she will go to all ends to try to ensure they are happy with the schedule. Sherry’s relationship with all of the farmers is so strong that they colloquially refer to her as the “Queen of Maple Leaf.” They also are known to call her to simply talk and catch up, as she cares deeply about them and remembers the personal details for each of them. She supports all her stakeholders silently and humbly, working in the background ensuring that the day to day operations for all facilities run smoothly.

For those that know her personally, they know that Sherry is an absolutely wonderful person. She is funny, caring, friendly and is always there when you need someone to listen and support you.

Sadly, Sherry was diagnosed with severe lung cancer at the end of June 2023. She has since then undergone radiation treatment in July 2023. The lung cancer is very painful and drains her of much of her energy. As a result, Sherry can no longer work. This is an emotionally, physically and financially very stressful time for Sherry, especially since the father of her son Ryan recently passed away.

We have put together this GoFundMe to collect donations to help Sherry as she fights her battle against cancer. Sherry has supported so many of us through the years and we want to find a way to help in her time of need. These funds will be there to support Sherry and her son.
