Support Sherry Terry's Heart and Health Recovery

Hello, my name is Ariel Terry. My mother, Sherry Terry could use your help. On January, 18 2025 she fainted in the car in the Walmart parking lot in Oneonta. She was hyperventilating first and fainted for a few seconds. We were all in panic, but told her doctor and decided she should just take it easy.

Eight days later on Sunday, January 26th she fainted again, but this time standing up. She was taken to Fox Hospital where they did blood work and found out her magnesium was low. They gave her some in her IV for a few hours and sent her home. Her magnesium was at 1.1 in the hospital when it’s supposed to be 1.9.

The next day she was at 1.5 and went to the doctors for a checkup. She hadn’t been feeling well all week until Saturday February 1st where she passed out several times, so we took her to O’Connor hospital where she fainted once again. Her heart stopped for 8 seconds, so they transferred her to Wilson’s hospital in Johnson City to get her heart looked at.

She has been in Wilson’s from February 1st and is getting out tomorrow, February 8th. She was sick with RSV and had many tests done to her heart. It turns out the nerves at the bottom and top of her heart are not communicating properly, so she had an ICD implanted. For those who don’t know, an ICD is both a pacemaker and defibrillator.

She also has something called sarcoidosis. according to the Mayo Clinic “Sarcoidosis is a condition that causes tiny collections of immune system cells in any part of the body. These tiny collections form red, swollen lumps called granulomas. Granulomas most commonly occur in the lungs and the lymph nodes of the chest. They also can occur in the eyes, skin, heart and other organs.” She may need treatment for this depending on if it’s active or chronic on her heart and that would be in Westchester county, NY which is 2 and a half hours away. She has a 6 week recovery for her ICD surgery and cannot lift her left arm above her shoulder.

This money would help some of the burden of expenses while she’s healing. Anything helps and we truly appreciate everyone’s kind words and support. My mother is a social butterfly and has so many in her corner on the road to recovery.
