Support Sherwood Lake Apartment Fire Victims

In response to the devastating Sherwood Lake apartment building fire, we are forming this fund on behalf of fiancés and residents Sydney Cohn and Andrew Harris to assist with the rebuilding of their lives. The couple had made the apartment their home for the last year as they planned and built their lives together.

The large fire occurred on the night of February 29th, 2024 and left 35 units uninhabitable, with 40 residents being immediately displaced. Thankfully, with the assistance of first responders, everyone was able to make it out of the building and there were no physical injuries resulting from the fire. Unfortunately, the fire did take their home and belongings, leaving a challenging path for recovery ahead.

The engaged couple had plans to get married on March 8th, 2024, but sadly the marriage license and Sydney’s dress were all destroyed in the blaze. They are currently trying to reschedule their wedding to the best available date. Their faith as Christians and members of the Christian Life Center at Tinley Park, IL continues to be a blessing of strength for them as they face life’s challenges together. In rebuilding their lives together Sydney, who currently works in the mental health field, plans to go to nursing school in summer 2024 and Andrew, who recently graduated inducted into the Alpha Beta Gamma Honor’s Society with a 3.7 GPA, plans to start a new position using his associate degrees in applied science of IT and programming. They have not let this fire stop them, but need any help available in order to meet their goals.
