Support Shi'loh, Emotional Support Pittie
Donation protected
Hey, I’m Taryn’s sister, Dimes. I have started this GoFundMe as Taryn is currently taking her Emotional Support pitty, Shi’loh to intensive rehabilitation treatment for a potential spinal seizure that left her acutely paralyzed in her hind legs. We recently found out, spinal seizures don’t really have much of a one-time medical treatment.
From Christmas Eve to Christmas Day, Shi literally got worse overnight. The paralysis struck out of nowhere. I felt so empathetic for them. She was rushed to the emergency vet and that’s when the referrals, rollercoasters, and financial distress began.
After her emotional and financial roller coaster with a ton of specialists hypothesizing everything from mandatory 15k surgery for potential IVDD (without even an MRI to verify), to her being deep pain negative, to her potentially having a spinal seizure, to now being sent to intensive rehabilitation treatment for months.
The rehabilitation facility has been amazing with Shi’loh so far. We found out she wasn’t actually deep pain negative after all (yay)… but still some delay and neurological abnormalities present.
She needs a lot of support right now to increase her chances of recovery and potential mobility. My sister has had to change her whole life and work schedule to become her full-time caregiver. She even has to help Shi urinate (Bless them both).
Shi’loh really needs things like: a wheelchair, special needs supplies, mobility types of equipment, all these supplements and injections, medications, continuous rehabilitation treatment sessions, specialist medical appointments, and it seems like the list continues honestly.
For anyone who knows Shi’loh and Taryn, she is more than just her Emotional Support Animal or a pet. Shi is basically her daughter in short-furred form. Shi is 8 years old and they’ve been inseparable since they met when Shi was just 3 months old.
When Shi’loh suddenly became paralyzed on Christmas Day, our family was devastated! We felt all we could do was pray, hope she would be okay, and do what we could to support them.
That brings me here— Taryn and her sweet fur-child Shi’loh are just trying to maintain a comfortable quality of life without pain and distress.
Taryn is not someone who would ask for help, especially financial help. She’s the “strong one.” That’s why I am here supporting and doing this for her. This has been such a trying and transitional time for our family and we are all feeling heartbroken and yearning to do more to support.
If you can find it in your heart to support and/or share with others, some of the burdens will be relieved.
Thank you for your time and support!
