Support Shiro Dessert's Recovery After Devastating Fire

On behalf of Shiro Dessert….
On Friday, March 7th, a fire broke out on Bedford Street in Stamford and we are devastated to learn of the damages to multiple businesses. Unfortunately, Shiro Dessert was affected by the fire and sustained heavy water damage and can no longer operate.
Shiro has been a part of the community for almost 3 years crafting original recipes for drinks and serving Asian inspired desserts. At just 19, Sabrina started Shiro in hopes of bringing East Asian culture to Bedford Street. What started as a journey for creativity and passion for culinary has turned into a nightmare for Sabrina.
Employee Statement: Shiro opened its doors in May of 2022 and it has been such a welcoming experience for me. I’ve worked at Shiro since day one, and seeing this tragedy happen has affected me. It was a place of comfort and joy. Sabrina and her family have opened their doors and accepted me as one of their own. Seeing Sabrina build everything from scratch in the beginning and then it being taken all away from her, has devastated me. Shiro was family to me. I helped put things together around the store which helped shape it to what people would know it as. It hurts seeing something you put all your effort and time, taken away from you. Shiro was a place I called home when I had nowhere else to go. I’ve met amazing people including the other coworkers who were a part of Shiro. This tragedy did not only affect the community, but it took away employment for those who have worked there.
Every dollar donated will go directly towards rebuilding, replacing lost equipment, and helping their employees get back on their feet during this difficult time.
We are grateful to the first responders and the community coming together to support. Your generous donations will make a tangible difference in helping Shiro’s rebuild and service to the community. Thank you to everyone for their support.
