My name is Renuka, and I am reaching out to share our story and seek your support. My husband, Shiva Kirla, and I were just beginning our journey together, looking forward to a beautiful life filled with dreams and hopes. However, our lives took an unexpected and tragic turn when Shiva met with a life-altering accident that has left him paralyzed.
This sudden change has brought immense challenges and has tested our strength and resilience in ways we never imagined. Despite the hurdles we face, we are determined to move forward and believe strongly in the power of community and support to aid in Shiva's recovery.
Shiva is the life of the party – always wearing a contagious smile, open-hearted, kind to the core, and the definition of easygoing. His spirit has touched so many lives, and now it's our turn to give back. He has always been there for others. Now, it's our turn to stand by him and his family during this difficult time.
The funds raised will go toward essential medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and necessary home modifications to make life more accessible for Shiva Kirla.

Note: This happened in August 2022. Shiva, his family, and his friends did their best to avoid needing community help. However, neck surgery, multiple neurological visits across India, and physiotherapy/rehabilitation costs consumed all of their money.
We also tried long-term disability, but that didn't get approved because he hadn't completed one year of service at Walmart at the time of the accident. Now, we badly need help from the community.
Regarding the incident:
The day after his wedding, while returning home with the bridegroom on the outskirts of Vijayawada, a car collided with the divider, spinning multiple times and impacting directly on the side where Shiva was seated. This resulted in a spinal injury that required immediate surgery. Presently, his lower back, lower body, and hands are unresponsive despite the surgery.
