Support Shuru and Julia after tragic loss
Donation protected
Our beloved family friend Shuru Zhang (51), was tragically killed by a 20 year old drunk driver going the wrong direction at night on a highway. Also in the car was her daughter Julia who suffered serious injuries and is currently being treated in the Palmsdale Trauma ICU.
It was meant to be a happy day, Shuru took Julia to take her driver license exam, Julia passed and they were driving home to celebrate with family. Shuru was very proud of her daughter.
Shuru is survived by her dedicated, hard working husband, and her two daughters Ying and Julia. They have an amazing story of perseverance and strength. While patiently waiting for a path towards USA immigration, Shuru immigrated from China to Mexico with her husband and child Ying. For 10 years they worked hard to build a life for their growing family (Julia was born shortly later) before finally having an opportunity to immigrate to USA. Ying in particular overcame a lot during this time. She first faced a new school environment and learning a new language in Mexico. She faced this a second time when the family moved to USA. Both girls beat these challenges and went on to be good students with Ying attending Grand Canyon University and Julia starting her freshman year at UC Santa Barbara.
The family is grateful for contributions to help with the funeral for Shuru Zhang and to help with the healing and medical expenses for Julia.
