Support Silas Battle Against Brain Cancer

I'm reaching out to you today on behalf of a good classic "family man"—a hard-working man that puts his family above all else. Silas Williams, who is facing an unimaginably tough battle with lymphoma of the brain, which is known as central nervous system lymphoma. A rare and aggressive cancer that occurs when malignant cells form in the lymph tissue of the brain, which was diagnosed on 10/2/24.

On 10/1/24, Silas was driving on I-94 in Eau Claire, WI, in his semi-truck picking up a load to deliver back to Illinois, when the unimaginable happened. He lost control of the semi, going into oncoming traffic on the other side of the road, and ended up in a ditch. When they found him, he was unresponsive and then transported to Mayo Hospital Eau Claire, WI. A series of tests was done. Final results showed that he had a mass on the left side of the brain, which caused him to have a seizure and then pass out while driving.

On 10/2/24, brain surgery was performed to remove the mass, but unfortunately, the surgeons could not remove it because of how it was positioned on the brain. A biopsy was performed, and the final report showed lymphoma, which needs to be treated with chemo in two weeks.

Despite having a job he just started on 9/9/24, Silas needs our help more than ever. The fight against this aggressive cancer requires extensive treatment, which includes medications, doctors' visits, and diagnostics, which can be overwhelming.

Short-term disability coverage and medical insurance through his employer will not be available until December 1st. He won't be able to qualify for Illinois Medicaid until November. Benefits are insufficient to cover mounting medical expenses and essential care that he needs to recover and maintain quality of life. Silas's situation is urgent and critical; without additional support, the financial burden is unimaginable.

Our support will allow Silas to focus on his health and spend precious time with his family and children before he embarks on this new chapter of his life, without the constant worry of financial strain.
