Support Simon Kelly's family

Hi everyone,

I am fundraising to support the young family of my good friend Simon Kelly who sadly passed away on the 30th of December.

Simon was an inspiring and caring man who lived life to the fullest. Simon was passionate about many things including his beloved Richmond Tigers football team and a great round of golf, though nothing meant more to him than his gorgeous wife Vanessa and their two young daughters, Tess and Anna. Simon relished his role as a husband and father, supporting Vanessa to begin her small business, and taking every opportunity he could to spend time with his daughters.

Devastatingly, Simon suffered a medical emergency whilst on holiday in Melbourne to visit his parents for Christmas. Vanessa discovered him unresponsive during the night and although paramedics were able to revive him, he remained in an induced coma for several days. Vanessa and the girls needed to extend their stay in Melbourne. Her family and friends travelled from Perth to support her through this difficult time and care for the girls whilst she was at the hospital with Simon.

Heartbreakingly, the decision was made to remove Simon from life support after a week and he passed away.

Simon’s death was sudden and unexpected. He was a fit and healthy 45-year-old, who was in the prime of his life with plans for the future with Vanessa and his girls.

Vanessa now has to raise Tess and Anna without Simon and support them to heal from losing their beloved Dad.

All funds raised will be distributed to Vanessa in full to cover the immediate and ongoing expenses she will have for herself and the girls over the coming weeks and months. It is also hoped that the money raised will allow Vanessa to be able to take some time from her work to help herself heal from losing her soul mate and life partner, whilst also helping her girls adjust to life without their loving Dad.
