Support Sinead's Journey to Johns Hopkins

Sinead is a non-binary trans femme who discovered her calling a little late in life.

Sinead has always been a deeply curious and inquisitive person, with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. It was this curiosity and passion that drove her to study medical illustration in college. Unfortunately, Sinead was never able to afford to finish her studies and attain the terminal degree and certification necessary for this line of work.

Along the way, Sinead became drawn into political advocacy and social justice work. It was through this work that she would unexpectedly find her passion for the field of bioethics. Had she known this field existed in her adolescence, her deep passion for the medical sciences and her moral & ethical convictions would have drawn her naturally into this field. Unfortunately, growing up in a transphobic conservative environment, Sinead was not given the space necessary to explore passions.

Now, after many years of accumulated student and medical debt, Sinead is going to try to get her Master's in Bioethics at her dream school, Johns Hopkins. First, Sinead plans to receive a certificate from Hopkins in Bioethics, to keep her courses manageable while she works full-time in health policy & trans advocacy. This certificate will carry over into the Master's program once Sinead has the necessary time.

In order to make this happen, Sinead needs to raise enough money to cover tuition, books, and travel. She's calculated that this would require approximately $20k total, but she's decided to ask for $14,000 and see if she can make up the difference by selling artwork and freelance gigs.
