Friends and Family of Sky-
My name is Jules, some of you may know me as a close friend to Sky and the entire Smith family for the last twenty years. I'm writing this alongside Sky's sister, Harmony Smith. Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined writing this message to you all about Sky; but we know those close to him and everyone that he's impacted so positively throughout his life would want the opportunity to help in any way possible.
On April 10th, 2024 Sky received incredibly shocking news after the discovery of a large mass on his esophagus. Subsequently, after a biopsy and many additional tests and scans, Sky was diagnosed with stage 3 Esophageal cancer. It seems almost unbelievable that Sky, who has always led an incredibly healthy and active lifestyle, would be in the battle for his life, at the young age of 43.
Anyone close to him can attest to the pride he takes in treating his body well by eating right, being physically active through his career, the hobbies he is so passionate about, and generally making consciously healthy choices to better himself in all that he does. This news blindsided him, and came as a massive shock to us all.
In the weeks following his diagnosis and through extensive research, many discussions with close friends and family, and an intuitive understanding of what is best for his body to beat this cancer, Sky has decided to undergo an intensive integrative cancer treatment from a pioneer in the field of cancer therapy, Dr. Nezami. Dr. Nezami's therapies have saved many lives and the work he is doing could help shape the future of oncology. Sky is confident in his practice and feels incredibly optimistic that this treatment is exactly what he needs to fight this aggressive form of cancer. In tandem with the help of Doctor Nezami, Sky is also working with an Oncology team in Bend, Oregon and will start localized Chemotherapy and Radiation treatment in early May, as well as a possible surgery to remove the mass on his esophagus, to ensure the cancer doesn't spread. This will be an exhaustive battle, but one we know Sky can beat!
With treatments such as this, medical expenses are extraordinarily high, and will stack quickly. Additionally, the career that Sky loves so dearly and is so committed to, will have to be put on hold while he fights this battle. That is where all of you come in! As a loving community gathered around Sky, we can help him in this battle by lightening the load of this huge financial burden and taking as much of it off of his plate as we can.
Let's help Sky kick this cancer's ass, just like he has conquered all of his hunts over the years for many clients and close friends and support him as he has supported and helped so many of us throughout his life. Please feel free to share this with anyone you know would also love to help Sky, as we're very aware that his reach and friendship goes far and wide.
With love and well wishes,
Jules and Harmony
