Support SoCal MTB League Riders: Replace Gear Lost in Fires
Donation protected
The LA county fires have been devastating, and we are trying to bring a sense of normalcy back to our SoCal League families who find solstace riding on whatever trails will remain after the ash clears.
Many of the SoCal League teams coaches and riders lost everything in these fires. Our first race is happening next month, and we're fundraising to replace some of the lost cycling gear- bikes, shoes, helmets, water bottles, gloves, clothing and other things needed for these teams.
Financial contributions ensure kids can get the right size clothes, shoes, and helmets to get back on the bike.
Funds will be distributed to the teams in priority of need. La Canada and Santa Monica Composite are the 2 that I know of that have been affected the most, but Monrovia may have affected riders as well.
About the organizers: the Eastlake High School and South Bay Composite mountain bike teams are located in the eastern Chula Vista area of southern San Diego, a region that was threatened by the Harris fire in 2007.
We are collecting donations of gently used mountain bike gear in person, drop off location to be announced.
