Support Social Worker Josie - Pay Medical Bills
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
In 2015 while Josie was a 26 year old graduate student, she was diagnosed with a rare bone disease in her lower jaw, osteomyelitis. She underwent multiple jaw replacement surgeries at Mayo Clinic, by removing her shin and restructuring it for a new lower jaw. Doctors were unable to diagnose a specific cause, but felt they had removed the infection completely.
Since then she has graduated with a Master's to become a social worker for Wise Health System, which caters to helping low-income patients. Josie's passion has always been to give back to the community.
However, in 2018 the infection was found in her upper jaw, making it more dangerous for chances of spreading. Josie underwent additional, complicated surgeries to prevent further disease progression.
Because the infection was in the bone surrounding her mouth, medical insurance wouldn't cover any of the costs. Dental insurance only paid a small fraction of the $10,000 in medical expenses. And even still knowing the visits are too expensive, she stands strong.
Josie is one of my dearest friends with the kindest heart. She embraces all life's challenges with a positive, selfless attitude. Already burdened by student loan debt, your contributions would help alleviate some of Josie's unforeseen medical bills. Please donate with a small contribution, and help Josie pay-off her hospital expenses.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Chris
