Support Sophia through Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Hey friends and family,
Recently, our cousin Sophia (23) was told she had a mass in her brain. After months of feeling debilitating symptoms and being told by doctors that she looked fine, this was both a difficult diagnosis and a blessing - to finally know the root cause of her frustrating symptoms. Due to the location of the mass and the unknowns around whether or not the tumor is cancerous, surgery was necessary right away. Her surgery is December 20, 2022.
After Sophia’s surgery to remove the mass, there will still be a long journey ahead. Sophia will have a tube placed to allow for drainage, the mass will be tested for cancer, and Sophia will undergo many tests (and potentially more surgeries) throughout her life.
We know how much this diagnosis and surgery is weighing on Sophia and her family. The medical unknowns, the disruption to normal life, the extra costs of medical care, the loss in work, and the never ending bills make a time of healing (and the holidays) even more stressful and scary.
We are fundraising to allow Sophia’s mom, Sarah, to take time away from work to help her daughter recover. We also want to ensure any of their medical and other costs of living will be covered so they can focus on being there for one another.
Any amount of money you can donate will be so appreciated. This time of uncertainty will feel less stressful knowing they can be there for one another. We believe our community is better when we uplift one another during our hardest moments in life. Thank you for your support and generosity now and into the future. Let’s show the Erickson Family that they will never be alone- even in the darkest of moments.
100% of the funds will go to Sophia and her family to pay for the medical expenses and costs of living during recovery.
P.s. GoFundMe takes a portion of the donations (3% even though they say they don’t- and ask for a tip. Terrible). If you’d like to make a Venmo payment instead to ensure it all goes to Sophia and not fees, use this handle:
