Hi my name is Sophia and i am an Opll survivor. Back in April of 2023 I found out I had this rare disease that can cause paralysis with or without surgery. It all started with a terrible back pain that wouldn’t go away. Doctors did scans and mri of my back and couldn’t find anything. However by the grace of God two doctors were place in my pathway that decided to do a scan on my neck and found out I had this disease that’s incurable that can come back at anytime in my lifespan, however with technology and good medical inclination my surgeon was able to save me by decompressing my cervical spine to prevent me from being paralyzed. I was out of work and commission for 12 weeks. But by the grace of God I’m back working slowly but surely with Gods grace. Most days are bad but I push on through I’m 1yr and 1 month post op. However, unfortunately I found out that my dads health has turn for the worst on April 16th 2024, 5 days before my 1 year post op date. My dad is in an acute rehab facility in New Jersey bed ridden with a feeding tube because he failed his swallow evaluation and also needs round the clock care. I cry everyday and night not being able to be by his side because I live in South Carolina and it’s costing me a lot financially to get there back and fourth, I’m just trying to recoup financially from being out of work from my surgery 1 year ago and suddenly his health turn for the worst. However, with your help and donation I would be able to be there every week with my dad. My dad is the best dad and father a girl could ever have growing up. He made sure I went to one of the best schools growing up in Jamaica he work so hard to take care of all my siblings and provided us with whatever we wanted and needed as children. My dad never came home without a bag in his hand with snacks or something for us when he arrives from work. My dad is a humble family man that loves his children dearly. Please, I want to be by my dad side on the days I’m off from work, I want to give him that unconditional love he gave me when I was growing up. I know in life everyone has there time to go and be with the creator but until the Lord see it fit I want to spend the rest of my time helping and caring for my dad the best way I know and that best way is the way he cared for me when I was growing up. I love my dad with all my heart please help. This picture was taken 3 weeks ago when I visited him in New Jersey I was cheering him up by telling him to say cheese for the camera. Every little counts. May God bless you all. With love Sophia.
