Support Sophya through her Surgery

Back in December 2022, my mom had surgery to correct an issue with her bowels. There were complications with the surgery and she was rushed into an emergency surgery. She came out of surgery with a large open abdominal wound and a colostomy. She was able to heal from that although it took much treatment and time. She has struggled for 6 months now with trying to heal and to be in a position to have a reversal surgery to remove the colostomy bag.

She has healed and the reversal surgery is scheduled for June 21st at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Because of the time that she used for her previous surgery along with the extended recovery time, she has no paid time off left to use. This surgery requires that she be out of work for 12 weeks. This will cause her a great financial hardship. She has monthly bills and expenses that she will need to pay.

My mom is a Registered Nurse. She has been a nurse since she was 18 years old. She has always helped people and done it during a time in their life when they were in great need. Now my mom is in great need. Her monthly bills total $2,000. She also has some costs related to getting to Rochester, staying for the required amount of time and getting back. That cost is $1200.
