To our friends and family,
On behalf of my team at Sorrel, my name is Mark Lieuw and I am the pastry chef at Sorrel Restaurant. I am starting this campaign along with Chef Alex Hong to support our beloved restaurant.
In our short time as a restaurant nestled in Pacific Heights, we have been blessed to serve and get to know our many guests, including many of our neighbors and regulars who we have come to know as special members of our family. We are reaching out to all of you for help at this difficult time for us and restaurants all throughout San Francisco and the nation. Sorrel was mandated to shutdown until at least April 7th to prevent the spread of coronavirus. We fully support the decision and necessary actions that our local government is taking to contain this viral outbreak in our state and city. We eagerly await the day when this “shelter in place” is lifted so we can get back to doing what we love to do, our Sorrel family of 30+ needs your help to get through this time.
With this campaign, we are hoping to raise $40,000 to support our staff with expenses ranging from healthcare, rent, missing wages, and funds for food, and utilities to name a few. In the hospitality industry, we simply do not have the option of working from home to continue making our wages. Through your assistance in this campaign, we know that we will be able to come out of this time better and stronger than ever.
