Support Speech Therapy for Syrian Refugee Kids

Hi, we are blossomstitched (https://www.instagram.com/blossomstitched?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==) and we are raising funds for the RASAS (Refugees Association: Supporting Integration and Solidarity) in Turkey. Specifically, we are raising funds for a speech therapy for Sudanese refugee children.

The world is deprived of hearing some children's marvelous voices and ideas. Because from time to time, children are exposed to traumatic events that they cannot cope with, such as war, migration, earthquake, loss, or due to genetic influences, they experience speech and language disorders.

Speech and language impairment affects children's self-confidence, education, family, and friendship relationships in every sense; children are deprived of discovering and displaying their potential. The good news is that speech and language disorders are not completely incurable disorders. But unfortunately, treatment is not only about awareness and financial means are the most decisive factor in access to treatment.

At Refugees Association, they frequently work with children and their vulnerable families who have been exposed to traumatic events such as war, migration, and loss; they see that children cannot access their rights such as education, play, psychological support, and socialization due to speech and language disorders and that families cannot have their children treated for these issues due to financial constraints.

Additionally, we will be hosting a crochet drive in the upcoming months. This project is called Wovenwithlove by blossomstiched. RASAS has a baby-mother program for low socioeconomic women in Istanbul who need donated bags, toys, and warm-weather accessories. We at blossomstitched will be using a small amount of the money to cover the shipping of the crocheted/knit items from Atlanta to Turkey.
