Support stateless refugee children in Rainbow School

Hello! Happy festive season.

My name is Takeshi, a dance artist based in London, UK.

I have been fortunate to volunteer at Rainbow School, which is located on the border of Thailand and Myanmar since 2016.

I have been visiting the school to teach children dance and performance for them to learn communication, social skills and means to express themselves through dancing and moving.

I would like to take this opportunity to raise funds to donate to the school to support their day-to-day needs, education and further growth.

As a dance artist who creates dance performances with/for children and tour the work nationally and internationally, it is important to go outside of my comfort zone to meet children whom I wouldn't meet and support however I can to co-create a better future and world we share.

When I visited the school for the first time in 2016, I was reminded how privileged I was, being able to travel, have received higher education and have a roof over my head. These children, some of who are orphans, have no official ID, and are not recognized as an individual by any governments. This means that they have no access to education, health service and future career opportunities.

The school has been run by Tomoko & Yusuke, a Japanese couple for over 10 years, providing primary education to the children, food and space to live, ensuring that these children can go to further education and potentially have opportunities to work, which is when they can apply for a citizenship.

The funds raised here will go straight to the school without any admin fee as I am operating as an individual fundraiser. This will cover their food, materials for the education and day-to-day necessities.

However small/big amounts will be helpful and meaningful for the children.
