Support Stefanie Through Rare Bone Cancer

My daughter, Stefanie Creamer, is a 30-year-old woman who loves the Lord and was recently diagnosed with a rare type of bone cancer called Periosteal Osteosarcoma. Periosteal Osteosarcoma is a fast-growing cancer that affects the bones near the surface of the body.

Stefanie is facing a long and difficult road ahead. She will need to undergo surgery to remove the cancer which involves removing most of her radius bone and replacing it with a cadaver bone. This treatment will be expensive and time-consuming and will require her to travel long distances to specialized medical facilities over 2 hours away in Asheville, NC. Other treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, may be needed in the coming weeks.

This journey is complicated by the fact that Stefanie already has multiple chronic illnesses. She was diagnosed with a genetic connective tissue disorder called Hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) in 2016, after a 10-year search for answers. Connective tissues provide support in skin, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, internal organs and bones. Symptoms of hEDS include chronic pain, joint hypermobility, dislocations/subluxations, digestive issues, skin that bruises easily, poor healing, dizziness, problems with internal organs, and many more. Having hEDS also often comes with comorbidities including postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), gastroparesis, migraines, and severe allergies. At age 30, she is unable to work due to chronic pain and other medical issues she faces every day.
