Support Stella's Esports Dream in Seoul!

Hi there! My name is Stella Black. I'm currently a student at the University of Houston studying physics, and my goal is to get my PhD in physics and work at NASA. However, my dream has always been with Esports, particularly Overwatch Esports, and I've been immersed in this community since 2020. I love playing, I love leading teams, I love hosting events, and even more, I love interacting with people within the community. Since 2020, I've hosted a multitude of different amateur tournaments for various organizations. I'm currently a coach for players, and I have a Fiverr open for anyone who would like to receive coaching. I manage teams, including getting them signed up for their own tournaments and giving them the resources they need to be successful. I own my own organization called Fireside, and we host multiple teams from multiple games, giving them a cozy place to run their games and receive support if needed. This is just a sliver of what I bring to the Esports community!

Yesterday, I received an email saying that I've been accepted into a program called Gen.G Practicum Abroad. Essentially, I will be traveling to Seoul, South Korea for 3 weeks, and I will have the opportunity to interact with real Esports professionals. I will gain hands-on experience and receive professional insights, I'll receive lectures from industry leaders, and I'll be immersed in Korean culture. This truly is an amazing opportunity for me and my future career! Ever since joining the Esports scene, everything I've taken part in has been solely online. Going to Seoul would give me a chance to meet my peers in person, to interact with people who have the same interests as me, and to learn from real people who have real experience! I will use everything I learn abroad to bring more of a professional and fun touch to each of my tournaments and teams. I believe the future of Esports is with high school students, so I will use my knowledge to make high school Esports more widespread. I want the world to see that it isn't just a waste of time, and that you can learn real-world skills from these opportunities. This is very important to me.

And I need your help to do it! My family doesn't have a lot of money, and I'm currently a college student living paycheck to paycheck. Any amount of help would be greatly appreciated, and every penny will go to this trip.

The program itself costs $5,450, which is where a bulk of the donations will go. The last $1,550 will go towards my travel costs and my passport!
