Accelerator Media is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational media organization dedicated to fostering a love of learning and inspiring the next generation of innovators in the STEM fields. We are thrilled to announce an exciting new video series project called STEM Pathways, designed to spark curiosity and ignite discovery in the minds of young learners.
This video series will illustrate the path to rewarding careers in STEM by featuring professionals whose work contributes to solving global challenges, ensuring a brighter future for humanity. Using real-world examples, engaging animation, and generative AI, STEM Pathways will empower students to explore exciting careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.
To kick off this series, we plan to shoot the pilot episode at the prestigious National Ignition Facility at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in September. This episode will explore cutting-edge advancements in fusion ignition, photon science, and high energy density physics, providing an unparalleled educational experience for our audience. Hosted by Dr. Femi Oluwafemi, this episode will take viewers behind the scenes of this world-class research facility, highlighting the scientists, engineers, and skilled trades workers who are at the forefront of advancing scientific understanding of fusion ignition, which could lead to a new source of sustainable energy.
Why We Need Your Help
We are seeking to raise $5,000 through this GoFundMe campaign to cover the production costs of the pilot episode. Your generous contributions will be used for:
- Production Crew: Hiring skilled professionals to capture and produce high-quality footage.
- Travel and Accommodation: Ensuring our production team can travel to and stay near the National Ignition Facility.
- Equipment and Insurance: Renting high-quality filming equipment and securing the necessary insurance coverage for on-site shooting.
Any amount raised above our goal will be used to:
- Capture even more incredible footage on a second day of production at LLNL
- Enhance the post-production process with 3D animation and visual effects
- Support the administration of a focus group conducted by our research and evaluation partnerships to improve impact and efficacy of STEM Pathways content
- Support the production costs of future episodes.
