As many of you are aware, Stephanie has overcome numerous obstacles in her life. On Wednesday, she went to the doctor for gastrointestinal issues after weeks of working through pain. Unfortunately, testing has unexpectedly revealed cancer. While we’re still waiting on additional testing & answers from doctors to determine what procedures will be required, her first surgery is scheduled for next week. The doctors are optimistic for her recovery, as are we, because if you’ve met Stephanie, you know she’s never backed down from a challenge.
Friends and family know- it’s a leap for her to allow us to create a space for people to help her. She is a friend to anyone who needs one, the first one to lend a hand while never asking for something in return. She inspires those around her to be the best version of themselves & loves her family and friends unconditionally. Stephanie is the one all of her siblings, nieces and nephews look up to - a safe space for all of us and so many other people she’s befriended over the years. This is evident in the volume of people who’ve reached out since her diagnosis. The amount of text messages and calls from friends and family alike is a testament to how loved she is. Due to the amount of inquiries about how to help Stephanie, we’ve started this fundraiser as a way to support her.
As an independent woman, she supports herself working as a subcontractor for the post office. Since she is a 1099 employee, she doesn’t have health insurance & won’t have an income during treatment. While she faces these challenges in the months ahead, we would like to alleviate the stress that comes from being unable to work. Ideally, we will raise enough funds to cover her living expenses for 6 months, specialist visits and any other medical related expenses that will come about during her battle.
Thank you for being here & supporting Nie in any way you are able.
