Support Stephanie on her road to recovery

Hi friends and family- it comes with a heavy heart that one of our closest friends has suffered a sudden and tragic medical emergency. I am one of Stephanie's longest friends and I needed to share some unfortunate news.

Stephanie went into the hospital last Friday 09/08/2023 with extreme back pain, which they thought was a kidney infection and bladder infection, which turned out to be much more serious, the MRI showed several lesions and pus pockets on her spinal cord. Because of the location and seriousness, she was airlifted to Barros neurological center in Phoenix and underwent emergency, spinal cord surgery Sunday night. Prior to surgery Stephanie lost all feeling from her chest down. Unfortunately, that feeling has not regained and at the moment she is still not able to walk or move from the chest down. Scary, concerning, and life altering to say the least.

Stephanie is not one to ask for help and does everything on her own. She has three kids she is raising on her own, works a full time job, and homeschools her youngest. Coming from a single income home this has obviously shaken their family on many levels.

First, please keep Stephanie, Conner, Cylee, and little Gwen in your prayers. If you know her, you know she has a huge faith.

Secondly, if you can and feel led to contribute on a monetary level, please do so any way you are able. We all know times are tough and any amount does NOT go unnoticed.

She has a long road ahead and at this point we don't if she will walk again. This is an extremely hard pill to swallow being the single caregiver for her babies and herself. Their lives will and have already changed significantly.

She will at least be in the ICU for another 3-4 days and then transferred to a regular room pending a few medical milestones At that point, she will be transferred to a 24 hour care facility for a month. This is where she will have round the the clock care. Her kids can't stay there, so again, another large pill to swallow. Her babies need her and it is extremely hard for anyone, but there are no grandparents, a spouse, second income, none of that.

This will take a lot of praying, healing, help, as she is still trying to process this all.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts
