Support Stephanie’s Fight Against Lymphoma

We want to share the story of our closest friend Stephanie. Over the past nine months, she has been suffering from a persistent cough, suspected to be a post-viral infection or asthma. However, a recent x-ray revealed a malignant tumour larger than an avocado, restricting her lungs and heart. We are saddened and shocked as on August 15th, only a month after her 24th birthday, she was diagnosed with stage 2 Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

We are sharing her story here because she is currently facing the biggest challenge of her life. Anyone who knows Steph knows she truly makes a positive impact on people's lives, and is the kindest, most inclusive, and most supportive person. Now it’s our turn to give her the support she needs.

We would like to reach out to our friends, family, and beyond to help relieve some of the financial burdens that lie ahead for Steph. Since beginning chemotherapy, Steph will be spending extended time off work with no paid leave, requiring medications not covered by insurance, undergoing fertility preservation, and needs necessities to make her treatments as comfortable as possible. There will still be unexpected costs that arise as she goes through this process.

Stephanie has a long road ahead of her and is working with a fantastic team at Southlake to get back to her ambitious life. Until then, we understand everyone is in a different financial position, and we welcome any support possible to help her get through this challenging time in her life. Even sharing this story will help Steph. We thank you all very much.
