Support Stephen's Vision for Youth Education

My dear friend Stephen Okurut is the Headteacher at Bukedea District Local Government (Uganda), which is close to Mbale (Uganda). Stephen and I go back many years now. We are brothers from different countries and cultures. I was blessed to help Stephen with his education years ago, allowing him to become the Headteacher at Bukedea District. His position is what we know as a Superintendent for our local school districts. Stephen was always a man who longed to give back to his community. When I met him in Uganda, I remember he was living in a mud hut while he was the principal of his local school. I asked him why he lived in a mud hut and not in a teacher’s brick house. He told me that he wanted the best for his teachers first before he would live in a brick house. This affirmed in me who this man was. Fast forward a few years, and Stephen has embarked on providing a way for graduating senior students to further grow in their education. He has been busy building an educational center for young students.
The idea behind this center is to offer training to the youth out of school on
1. Information Communication Technology.
2. Agricultural business management.
3. Work with communities and schools to promote education as a means of enhancing living conditions and providing a safe space for it.
The “Thorsten House Community Hub Center”, as he lovingly calls it, is almost complete. One significant item is painting. He has raised some of his funding, and I am helping him raise the rest to complete the job. We would need $2,000 to purchase the paint and get the painters to paint the facility. Please help me to finish this project.
All funds raised are 100% Tax deductible and are being handled by Embrace Uganda.
