Support Steve Lambert's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Steve Lambert, decades long rock concert goer and friend to numerous musicians, has suffered his second leg amputation. Anyone who has been to a rock or metal show in Alabama, Tennessee, or Georgia in the last 30+ years has possibly encountered Steve Lambert. Steve was diagnosed with cancer at 16 years of age, in 1988. With only months to live, doctors performed experimental surgery to attempt to remove a tumor in his leg. While doctors were successful in removing the tumor, the process did cost Steve his left leg. Prior to his surgery, the 'Make A Wish' foundation attempted to grant Steve a final wish, should the surgery not be successful. Steve's wish was to meet his guitar hero, George Lynch of Dokken and Lynch Mob. Upon hearing that there was a young fan whose dying wish was to meet him, George Lynch flew Steve out to spend a weekend at his home in Arizona. Their initial meeting would spawn a close friendship between the two that remains today. Over the years, Steve's courageous story has afforded him to opportunity to meet countless other music icons, and to call many close personal friends.
Today, close friends and family of Steve Lambert sadly report that an unexpected and sudden infection has forced the amputation of Steve's remaining leg. Otherwise, Steve is expected to make a full recovery. While Steve is the last person on earth to ever impose his problems and ailments on friends or strangers, this completely unexpected situation will bring about a heavy financial burden on Steve's life while he faces yet another lengthy rehabilitation period, further modifications to his home and living space, and other costly and unexpected expenses that will last him the rest of his life. To the countless people in the rock and metal communities down South who may have encountered Steve's warm and jovial spirit at any number of shows and events where he was present, and wish to make a small donation to alleviate these expenses, Steve has at long last, allowed his close friends to set up this GoFundMe. 100% of the funds raised here will go directly to Steve. Steve insists that no one feel obligated to contribute, and welcomes anyone who does contribute to do so anonymously if they choose.
